Architecture Incorporated's recent ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of its new office space, inside the former Carnegie Library building in downtown Rapid City. The event also unveiled the firm-designed renovation of the interior. Blending modern updates with the building's classic features, the open floor plan promotes collaboration and makes use of ample natural light.

Architecture Incorporated has had a Rapid City office since 2010. The firm has worked to develop deep local ties and contribute to the city's continued development while preserving the rich history and distinctive character of the Black Hills' largest community.

Architecture Incorporated's new Rapid City address is 508 Seventh Street, Suite 200.

    Communications Committee seeks members

Blueprint South Dakota, the AIA South Dakota blog, has been—and will continue to be—a vital piece of our communications puzzle and sponsorship strategy.

As we move forward, the AIA SD Board of Directors also sees a need to expand the Communications Committee’s reach beyond our blog. The Board intends to have the committee help guide the strategic communications plan for AIA SD as a whole.

We'll refine the specifics together as the Communications Committee (CC) reconvenes for its first meeting of 2025. The Board's strategic planning session addressed a few topics at a high level, but we are a membership organization with many perspectives and nothing is set in stone. That's where this committee comes in!

I have two, independent questions for you:

    1. Are you interested in being a part of the Communications Committee, knowing the intent will be to help craft the strategic communications plan for AIA SD?
    2. Are you interested in providing blog content?

Writing for the blog does not mean you need to sign yourself up to be part of the committee itself (or vice versa). We still need dedicated content providers, and it's important for AIA SD members to choose the work they're most interested in.

Of course, you certainly can do both, if you wish.

Please let me know how you'd like to get involved. You can email me directly at Josh.Muckenhirn@isginc.com to start the conversation and let me know you'd like to receive call-in details for our first meeting. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Josh Muckenhirn, AIA, NCARB

SD AIA Board Member and Communications Chair

TSP, Inc., an integrated architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design firm, is excited to announce the opening of its new office in Rapid City. This marks a significant milestone in the firm’s long-standing relationship with the Black Hills region, where it has had a physical presence for more than 50 years.

Mark Averett, AIA, leads the Rapid City team, now located at 1051 Fairmont Boulevard. The 5,600-square-foot facility is just west of the main Monument Health campus and easily visible from Mount Rushmore Road.

The design includes a mezzanine to accommodate an alternate work environment as well as informal meeting and social space. A movable wall system enables the conference room to be expanded for larger gatherings.
