Advocacy Committee

Help track bills and ordinances in Washington, DC, Pierre and across the state that will impact architecture, and advocate for issues that matter. To inquire or join, contact Chair Justin Oleson, AIA.

Communications Committee

Help our members demonstrate why architecture and AIA South Dakota matters to communities and leaders across the state and region. Help tell the stories of design and architecture by getting involved in concepting, designing, writing, editing or selling advertising in support of Blueprint South Dakota, the AIA SD blog. Convention Committee

Help plan and organize the chapter's big event of the year every September. Get involved in logistics, selecting speakers and workshops, coordinating the exhibit hall, promotion, planning networking events, finding sponsors, and more.  To inquire or join, contact Chair Justin Oleson, AIA.

Design Awards Committee

Help organize the annual Design Awards and Nominated Awards programs to celebrate architecture in South Dakota!  To inquire or join, contact committee chair Michelle Klobassa, AIA.

Design in the Hills Committee

Help plan and organize the annual July membership event in the Black Hills. Get involved in planning, organizing, promoting, providing continuing education, etc.  To inquire or join, contact Brad Burns, AIA.

Emerging Professionals Committee

Help encourage and prepare associates, architecture students, and other young professionals in the architecture field in our state, including licensing exam group study and SDSU Department of Architecture involvement. To inquire or join, contact Terri Miller, AIA, licensing adviser.
