Design in the Hills is unique in the design world; although there are sponsors and continuing education credits, very little of it is provided in a traditional classroom setting. The conference is interactive and mobile. Design in the Hills is a unique gathering of architects, landscape architects, interior designers, engineers and artists from across the state, along with members of the community who all connect to celebrate and elevate the standard of design.
Each year, AIA South Dakota focuses on projects and places of interest in the Black Hills communities.
Registrations are non-transferable. Refunds will be provided for requests made in writing to events@aiasouthdakota.org prior to Wednesday, June 24. No refunds will be granted after June 24.

The 2026 AIA South Dakota Annual Convention is set for Wednesday, Sept. 30 - Friday, Oct. 2 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, 1201 N. West Ave., Sioux Falls.
Welcome to registration for the exhibit hall at the 2026 AIA South Dakota Annual Convention. set for Oct. 1 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, 1201 N. West Ave., Sioux Falls. You’ll enjoy interacting with architects and design professionals from across South Dakota and the region during nearly five dedicated hours of Exhibit Hall time and approximately three hours of social time. As an exhibitor, you are a welcome guest at lunch and a featured guest for the Exhibitor Party on the evening of Oct, 1. The exhibit hours are 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
