South Dakota State University Architecture program in the School of Design is offering an exciting career opportunity as an Architecture Lab Manager. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join us in August 2023. This is a 12-month, 100%-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Director of the School of Design.

The Architecture Lab Manager is responsible for managing the equipment assets of the Architecture and Construction & Operations Management departments housed in the AME Production Lab. This lab manager will supervise student assistants and instruct students on safe lab practices and cover selected lab-based instruction.


  • ·      Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Operations Management, or closely related field by start date;
  • ·      At least one year of experience working with metal and non-metal processing equipment;
  • ·      Effective written communication skills;
  • ·      Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.


  • ·      Teaching experience;
  • ·      One degree in Architecture;
  • ·      Supervisory experience;
  • ·      OSHA 10 or 30 card.
